united states olympics basketball jersey design concept:
In honor of the Paris'24 Olympics coming this summer, and the United States roster and uniform reveal I thought it would be cool to create a take on the uniforms for the mens and women's basketball teams. I think in the past what made the uniforms iconic was the minimal take on the red, white, and blue. The subtle touch of iconography on the uniforms always stood out to me, especially with a uniform like the 2012 ones for example. not much going on with the uniforms but were very iconic to me. So I wanted to keep these simple tin detail but different compared to what other countries were doing. I think the USA name banner is a great touch. Easy to read and very much provides a contrast compared to the rest of the uniform. The three stars don't really have much meaning but I just wanted to add some type of stars to represent the flag and I also think the stars help not many award empty spaces.
The four uniforms consist of a red, white, blue and grey color way, obviously representing the flag. The grey uniform was just me trying out an alternate uniform concept and I thought it ended up looking great combined with the red, white, and blue so I added it to this project. If in a prefect world these were ever used it obviously can be changed as necessary but I can definitely see the likes of Lebron James, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant wearing a uniform like this in the near future.
